                                Greg Tank is an extraordinary dog trainer and the very best in
                                 the region, without exception. After working with eight different
                                 professional dog trainers (locally) and consulting with three
                                 animal behavior specialists (outside of the area), I found
                                 Treasure Valley Dog Training. It is because of my experience of
                                 working with so many other trainers that I know and fully
                                 appreciate how difficult it is to find a professional like Greg
                                 Tank. His level of expertise, experience and enthusiasm,
                                 combined with his talent for teaching dogs and their owners, is
                                 rare enough. However, it is Mr. Tank's innate ability to

                                                Recently my family and I decided to get a dog for a family pet. We
                                                 decided to employ Greg Tank of Treasure Valley Dog Training to
                                                 train him when the time came. Not being experts ourselves in
                                                 dog behavior, we were a little leery of picking the right dog for our
                                                 family, since we have two very young children. Greg, on his own
                                                 initiative, went out of his way to help us in our search, going as
                                                 far as accompanying us to the animal shelter to     do behavioral
                                                 testing on the dog that we had selected. His conclusions were
                                                 right on the mark. The dog we selected was a wonderfully
                                                 intelligent and gentle Border Collie that loves people.

Greg trained our dog, "Apache," in basic obedience to take commands both verbally and by
hand signals. The results were wonderful. Apache was a sweet dog before the training, but
hyper and undisciplined. By the time Greg was finished with the training, Apache not only knew
and obeyed all of the basic obedience training: heeling, sitting, lying down, coming, staying in
position, going to his kennel on command, etc., but Apache also lost that hyper, uncontrollable
puppy behavior of jumping up on people and generally being an irritant. He truly came back a
disciplined dog who still retained his sweet disposition.

I can honestly recommend Greg Tank as an excellent dog trainer. He is professional,
courteous, and honest. I believe that if a dog is trainable, Greg will get results.

                                        There are two main reasons I decided to take my dogs to puppy
                                          classes and obedience training. The first was due to a very bad
                                          experience of owning a dog with no training that became aggressive.
                                          The second motivation was my time working at an animal shelter and
                                          seeing all the dogs that would have been much better dogs if they had
                                          received training as puppies and the many dogs that could benefit
                                           from obedience training.

                                        The first class I attended was Puppy Preschool with my golden
                                         retriever mix, Captain. He did very well, and it made him a much more
                                         obedient, socialized, and confident dog. He is currently in the
                                         obedience class and seems to really like the interaction with other
                                         dogs and is learning a lot.

In between these two classes, my husband "inherited" his sister's beagle, Bailey. Working at
the shelter, I know that beagles are notorious for being problem dogs, and we decided to
enter her in class to get some control over her. She was already running away and ignoring
us when we called her. I really didn't expect to do that well with her but figured it couldn't hurt.
Much to my surprise, at the end of the 8 weeks, she is coming when called, following my
commands, and is heeling beautifully. The training has been and continues to be fun and
educational, and we enjoy our well behaved dogs so much.

Merlin, a boxer that I rescued, found me in February 2004. Soon
after, we both found Greg Tank. Along with Greg's help and of
course good nutrition and lots of love and positive strokes, this dog
has blossomed into a beautiful and confident companion.

Greg has a quiet and positive way that communicates confidence to
both you and your dog. He has helped me tremendously with Merlin.

Buddy, Greg's wonderful boxer, is a great example of obedience and
off-leash training. Greg & Buddy are a great pair, and to watch what
Greg has done with Buddy is a great example of his training ability
and great knowledge of dogs.

                                              Greg had my Yorkshire Terrier, Buddie, for approximately 3 weeks
                                              and taught him all the obedience training including: sit, down, stay,
                                              heel, and place. Greg takes much pride in his work and is very
                                              generous in extending all the help that is needed after the training is
                                              complete. Greg trains the dogs that he works with through praise and
                                              not punishment, and it was very important to me that my dog be
                                              handled in such a way.

I originally learned of Greg because a very good friend of mine bought a German Shepherd from
him that he had trained. I was so impressed with the accuracy and style of the training that I
asked her where she got her dog trained. There was absolutely no question that I would take
my dog there to have him trained when he was old enough.
